Can you imagine how I felt when I showed up and my presentation had been turned into a COOKIE?
What kind of client does this?
Only the awesome ones.
This experience reminded me of being a kid at the local bakery with my Mom the day before my birthday!
My nose to the glass, peering into the case of custom cake options that included Sesame Street, Care Bears, Superman, G.I. Joe, or Race Cars.
7-yr old me, carefully choosing which character I wanted as the theme of my birthday party, anticipating friends soon arriving for my special day, the cake had to be the perfect mood for our experience.
Cookie Monster is the one I chose over multiple years!
Once chosen, I would excitedly point, my Mom would assure me it was a great option, and the baker would happily pull the pre-decorated cake out and, with squeezy-colorful-icing-writing-utensil, ask me how to spell my name.
J-A-S-O-N
Watching the baker of this very cake turn into the artist daVinci while writing my name with icing in perfect cursive was literally the icing on my cake!
How proud I was when my friends would arrive, presents in hand, as they cheered upon seeing my custom cake and theme of our party!
Do you remember having an experience like this?
Where the experience is custom to you?
That is how I felt as a 44-yr old arriving at a corporate event held at TopGolf, where my own works and writing had been made into COOKIES!
I imagined the baker carefully crafting every cookie one by one, not knowing my nose would be pressed to the glass to see this work of art if I could have been there!
How did all of this come about?
Weeks earlier, Jessica Warrior of Granite Properties received my book, “The Promise To The One”, and decided she wanted to teach the ICM Process in a webinar before my appearance.
She did so well with teaching Signature Moves, the day I arrived in Dallas, TX to present The Promise to their intimate group of 55 people, the boxes came out and to everyone’s delight, especially mine…
THE Signature Moves ICM PROCESS had been made into little cookies!
Why is this so great?
- Because the client internalized and loved the power of the message
- Customized their event to drive the theme home in every little way
- Reinforcing the power of making things memorable
To top it off, everyone got my book, I went table to table signing them while the attendees led each other through The ICM Process, identifying and clarifying their Signature Moves and making The Promise to magnify that which makes them legendary leaders.
What a day! What an event! What an honor!
What are some of the coolest things you’ve seen at events?
What makes an event unforgettable?
How are you making your interactions with others awesome?
For me, this was one I’ll never forget, as I LOVE that they turned my message into a COOKIE!
It took me back to that bakery with my Mom as a 7-year old kid.
How wonderful.
