As I sobbed into the phone from the summit of The Grand Teton, following a 24-hour long arduous trek to get to the legendary craggy peak, I left a message for my family in both gratitude for their help with my preparations to ascend, and also mixed with terror at the thought of what I had just accomplished.
It wasn’t until the moment I stepped foot off the top of the mountain to begin the journey home that I realized The Descent is more important and dangerous than any Ascent.
Every mountain climb has an Ascent and a Descent.
The Summit is only 50% of the trip.
Every speaker, author, and motivator has talked extensively about seeing you at the top, go for the summit, and do all it takes to get there. All worthy topics, without these ideals we would have not much to discuss here.
But what has been neglected, until now, is the truth that yes, every journey begins with The Ascent, yet most accidents, death, even 80% of them, occur on The Descent.
Why has no one written extensively about The Descent?
What is the Summit if you don’t make it back to the Valley?
What is YOUR Descent?
How can you return safely from the pinnacle of success, fame, glory, and still be the person your family is proud of, loves, your community reveres? Still firm in the character that you started with, but forged now as a greater person?
Too many have fallen from the lofty position of achievement only to lose reputation, faith, family, wealth, health. Burned it all to get to the top.
For what?
This forthcoming book and concept, which I have been working on for 6 years, is titled,
“The Descent: The Greater Ascension – Meet Me in the Valley of Home”
It will be released in 2018 (along with “The Promise” book).
It includes strategies for the most successful among us to make sure to have a safe, productive, and promise keeping Descent. And once repacked can begin another greater Ascent.
If you have accomplished anything of significance in this life, you know you are changed once you reach the top.
Question is: How are you better for having been there, or did you sacrifice everything sacred to get there?
We will illustrate the stories of famous and infamous falls from grace, learning from their essential examples, as well as the few who have made it home intact, what they did differently to navigate back to safety, and how you can, too.
Think of the most “worldly successful” people you know. How does their life look inside and out? And what of it are you willing to sacrifice?
If you want to keep your family, accelerate your career, reinvent, salvage your health, live the life of joy and integrity you always envisioned, then this is a life-changing book that will profoundly affect the way you live the remaining gift of days you have.
If you’re interested in a Pre-Order of the book just send an email to info@localhost and you will be on the Pre-Launch pricing VIP list.
I look forward to joining you on The Descent as your guide, and grateful you’d come along.
Few will.

Looking forward to your book ‘Descent’ coming out next year. It’s a critically important concept that you accurately note has been under-discussed. Can’t wait Jason.
Thank you Steve, I really hope you of all people resonate with it.

Thank you so much Deb! The view from the summit is always amazing and hard to look away.
