Birthday Tomorrow

I turn 46 tomorrow.

To some that is young, to others that is old.

By definition, this is midlife.

If I look at where I am too critically I could be quite devastated at what I set out to accomplish early in life that has yet to be attained –

The elusive things, like 6-pack abs and an airplane in my backyard.

But if I look at what has been gained, achieved, and most importantly, learned, enjoyed, and given, then man, this life has been incredible in only 46 years.

I am with my family in the RV for this day.

I will write in my journal, read good books, talk on the phone to those I love, steer clear of social media while enjoying the view of our latest adventure, play piano on the keyboard I bought on Amazon that folds in half so I can practice my show on the road, and that is exactly what I wanted and planned. Nothing could make me happier than being with my children and smokin’ hot wife on this day.

Life is what you make it, every day is simply the compounded effect of the habits and rituals gained from a lifetime, and how we deal with the challenges that arrive and make up the present.

I’m grateful for you, reader, and the many who have blessed my life.

My Promise is to do all I can to continue to live fully present each day, and savor the joy that comes from being grateful to be alive, regardless of the elusive 6-pack and missing airplane in my backyard.

The Promise keeps me reaching for my greatest heights.
