The Joy of Living

My 2021 Promise Proclamation!

This day – so beautiful – I Promise to embrace the Joy of Living:

A child feeding the ducks with her parents;

A couple on rollerblades;

Dogs dancing between leashes as families go about;

The air cleared to see the sunshine after a few days of cloudiness;

Leaves to pick up and the fulfillment of a job well done;

Music in my air pods from artists adored;

Eggs on sourdough with avocado and a virgin bloody mary;

A text from a friend asking for advice;

Posts from peers on social media that uplift and inspire;

Reading scripture and writing in journal;

Hugging each child as they emerge from their slumber;

Cleaning the dishes after emptying the washer;

Talking on the phone with Mother;

Walking around the lake, and then running…just because…and walking again;

Shooting baskets with sons, after teaching chords on the piano;

Telling daughter she’s incredible & lovely before she leaves for the day;

Sending an encouraging and hopeful video message to friend in hospital;

Praying for healing of loved ones who suffer, after letting them know how much they’ve meant to so many lives;

All things are beautiful, every moment, every little thing, each precious moment.

Open eyes, embrace the Joy of Living – this is my 2021 Promise Proclamation!

    Love this! Life is busy and sometimes we miss the joy. Thanks for the reminder! Also enjoying your book over the holidays and making some needed promises.

  2. I’m planning on a year that will sing as I care for my mother, husband, and the grand. As I reach out to those in my church, my neighborhood, and my town. As I find at least three things every day that I can thank God for. Yes, a year that will sing! : )
