If you don’t get stuck in an airport at least occasionally then you don’t travel enough.
For years I have seen people go from elated and excited for their trip to becoming rabidly ridiculous due to inconvenience interrupting a vacation.
For some the imperfect flight connection can ruin your business life, strain relationships, and add extra pounds to the frame.
What we must realize is that a majority of the time you are literally unable to do anything about it.
So why not promise yourself you’ll make the most of it? Turn that frown upside down!
Recently I had a two hour layover suddenly become four hours and counting depending on snowfall throughout the country. Stuck at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport I could have purchased any number of emotional eating deep dish pizzas, donuts, or tasty desserts.
Instead I went to task against my FitBit, the great personal health communicator indicating how lazy of a butt you are all day, or how awesome you did with all those steps!
Challenge accepted! 10,000 steps here I come.

When I showed the footage to my kids, my amazing son, Redford, 11 years old, said he’d accept the challenge to edit the entire video. Amazing kid – how fun this turned out. He is officially my new video editor 🙂
