If you want to feel bad about yourself, go ahead and read the comments.
Truly, some of the worst days of my life have come when I accidentally stumbled upon the very public thoughts of keyboard warriors insulting me from the safety of their parent’s basement covered in Cheetos and self-righteous indignation.
Want to see what I mean? Scroll through the comments on this video of my routine that gets a standing ovation at pretty much every event performance I’ve ever shared it with. LOL!
“I’m not laughing.”ย
“Boring.”ย
“Move on…nothing funny here, folks.” (7 likes)
“I’ve either lost my sense of Humor, or the drink minimum at that club is way too high.” (17 likes)

The comments are not always terrible.
Somehow, the video with the most views (below), near half a million across multiple platforms, and the longest version of my act available online, has great comments unless you really dig to find the bad ones.
And that’s a nice thing to see that it’s fairly positive.
Comments on YouTube videos are the equivalent of reviews on Amazon.
People often go there first, just as they start watching the video, and then read the comments while it’s playing, not allowing themselves a chance to have their own thoughts!
Comments are currency.
When I have asked people for comments on my videos, it reminds me to go back to some of the establishments where my wife and I have gone to eat and savored the meal, hotels we liked, experiences enjoyed, and leave Good Reviews.
Realizing that I jump right into leaving negative reviews online after a bad experience to warn the public, but rarely think about sending in a great review after a Promise kept experience, is something I need to get better at.
What’s the last excellent experience you had that you sent a review for?ย
The Latest Reviews:
Recently, I performed for a company party with only 4 days notice. Their first plan fell through, which included meeting up with a professional sports team in my hometown, and suddenly they needed someone to come in and entertain a group of 70 folks from across the country last minute.
I was honored to get the call, a referral from a dear friend, thankful my night was available, and delivered a show that received a nice standing ovation.
The next day I woke up to read this really kind post on LinkedIn from my new friend, and client, Matthew Sadowski.

I really appreciate that he did this. It made my week.
He even took the time to put my NEW Demo Reel in the comments.
Amazing, even rare to do so, and be so thoughtful.
A few weeks ago we launched a NEW Demo Reel for 2026.
A good chunk of my now favorite people were incredible enough to take the time –
go to YouTubeย –
sign in – (which is a pain)
leave a thoughtful and helpful comment –
and since I see every comment, it is truly so appreciated, as it makes all the difference in my opportunities to spread love, light, joy, and The Promise message, and be validated to someone shopping for what I offer.
Thank you to those that have done this.
Thank you to those that have done so in your hearts and are willing to spread my name along to your friends.
Question I have for you is:ย
Would there be something you’d like me to review or leave a comment on?
Promise me you’ll send it along and forward it to me.
You may just find I know how to do the best review you will ever see, since I know how important it is to your success to get the right comment.

The 2026 preview video is great! I have seen you in person several times, and it was always so moving and hysterical at the same time. You get better and better. Thanks for keeping it up, Jason.
You’re so kind Mary Ann, thank you for this. I hope you are well!
Jason, you just keep doing you. Haters will always hate. I’ve had the opportunity to see a few of your events and have always left feeling fulfilled. You have a gift to be able to connect with people and make them laugh. Thank you.
Thank you David for the encouragement!
