Did AI Write This Post or Did I?

Let me guess. You can easily determine between what is written by AI and what’s not.

You take great pride in this ability. You catch it in your feed before the hundreds who commented using bots as their autoresponder.

So the question is this: Did AI write this post or did I?

I assume you’ll be able to easily know by the end, if you read that far. Or perhaps you’ve already figured it out?

I’ll give you the answer so you don’t have to read this whole dang thing:

This blog, and all of my posts, books, content, are written by me.

Here’s a video where someone asked me privately if it was AI, while another commented publicly, “Bro, aren’t you a comedian?” You can read my response on the video.

Is that video AI or is it me? It’s crazy we have people wondering that now. All the more reason to have LIVE EVENTS with each other.

Truth is – I have a very unique writing style. In fact, I hired a very accomplished editor to go through my book before submitting it to the publisher. She returned with the following:

“Jason, I don’t know what to say. Grammatically its completely incorrect. And yet, it works and is a wonderful read. I could feel you talking to me like we were in the same room! If I change that, it will compromise your very special style that no one else has. I’m not sure what to do from here. I fixed a few misspellings and that’s about it.”

I found that to be an honest and interesting response, and wasn’t sure if I should be offended or proud.

Instead I’ve been told by the many who have enjoyed the book that it is unlike any they’ve read, not just in the content, but in the way I use punctuation, CAPS, numbers, italics, break up paragraphs, dashes and semicolons, and other choices that aren’t traditional but work for someone reading it to get the point in a different way.

Have you read my book? I hope so.

I just went to Amazon and found out they have so many left that they lowered the price by half! What on earth? Buncha jerks!

Go get it at that price! Christmas gifts all around!

(AI does not approve of anything I’ve written in the last few lines)

I write like I speak. I speak in an odd way, as well.

So what does that have to do with you? EVERYTHING!ย

THUS I DECLARE: Your voice is noticed, important, and unique.

It’s your Signature Move.

Don’t allow AI, in all it’s amazing glory, to deny YOUR VOICE from speaking out loud.

Make the Promise today! Not the promise of “I will not use AI”, but perhaps it’s more like “I will use AI in particular given spots”.

What’s frustrating to me about social media, especially LinkedIn, is how very few humans are writing their content anymore.

In July 2026, an AI-detection company called Pangram Labs, published a study of more than a million real social media posts, scanned by their browser extension as ordinary people scrolled their feeds.

They found that 41% of long-form LinkedIn posts – anything over 250 words – are fully AI-generated.

Not AI-assisted.

Not AI-edited.

Fully machine written.

What on earth is happening in this world if that is filling our feeds, robots impersonating people posing as brilliant? Ridiculous.

When Pangram broke down where the AI-generated content was coming from, they found that LinkedIn made up a third of the posts they scanned.

Linked in is not just AI-heavy.

LinkedIn is the official AI capital of the internet!

Facebook is pretty out of control as well.

I’ve noticed how many more posts seem to be long form than ever before, and once you read them, you feel the AI-voice all over them.

Wild times folks.

What does that mean for you and me?

  1. BEWARE of reading, sharing, learning from, assuming it’s correct when something you think is original and detect its not, and check your resources and references;
  2. FIND RELIEF in your thoughts, your content, your great mind, your beautiful writing and sharing;
  3. DIFFERENTIATE yourself by NOT being the AI content-only person

Your Signature Moves matter.

Lean into your uniqueness.

Now more than ever it matters!

AI is great for many things. Just use it carefully. Don’t allow it to write everything for you, or you forget what you sound like! That is hanging onto humanity as robots take over the earth and suck out our brains…or is it too late?

So, what is your voice? What is your Signature Move? Not quite certain?

Here is a SECRET LINK I only share on stage for my high paying clients and audiences, for you to utilize an incredible resource to figure it all out. Feel free to share with your teams and families. And you may as well bring me in for your next leadership training as well.

And no, this post was definitely not written by AI, but I may have used it in a few moments here and there, who knows?

  1. Jason, I am a junior high teacher. One of my colleagues LOVES using AI to come up with lesson plans and presentations to give to students. She has often encouraged me to โ€œgive it a try.โ€ One time as I watched her come up with a lesson plan using AI I was rather unimpressed with the content it generated. I pointed out to her the presentation it made was super boring without any graphics and a bunch of text the junior high students probably wonโ€™t even read. So she had it put in some graphics. It lookedโ€ฆa little better. Itโ€™s kinda funny that I am a technology teacher but I am hesitant to jump on the AI bandwagon. Even the graphic designs I see ALL OVER that are AI really arenโ€™t that great.

I also worry about how you mentioned LinkedIn is so saturated with AI. I make posts on there that can get long winded, but are completely written by me. I hope people donโ€™t see that itโ€™s longer than 250 words and write it off as โ€œAI ramblingsโ€.

I still need to figure out how I can use AI to be more efficient and extend my abilities without losing my voice to the robotic perfection.

    1. Fascinating to read your thoughts as a teacher. I wish you well with the navigation of the AI craziness I’m assuming kids are utilizing all around! Thank you for commenting.

  2. Jason, This post is wonderful. I am currently finishing up a book about a classified operation in North Vietnam… while I was on active duty in 1973. The first thing I learned in using AI was to retain my real voice and make sure technology did not take over who I am. Thank you for the clarity of how to retain the promise to the one. Your friend in this crazy world. Richard Davidson

    1. Thank you, Richard, good for you utilizing it for what it’s intended for. Excited for you to have the book come out! Well done.

  3. Jason, you do have a signature way of speaking and writing. It’s genuine, honest, and accessible. One thing you do that I think detracts from your signature style isn’t the use of AIโ€”it’s the use of the LinkedIn “broetry” style in which each paragraph is only one sentence long. That’s a trend that doesn’t feel like a necessary part of your style at all.

    It goes like this.

A forced pause between each sentence.

    To add drama, supposedly.

Or maybe just to look like everything else on LinkedIn.

I think it would be more YOUโ€”your signature style, unadulteratedโ€”if you did away with that trendy broetry style and just used normal paragraphs. Just a suggestion.

    1. hahahah! Thank you Barry. Have you ever had someone say to you, “Hey, your eyes are too close together?” And it’s something you never considered but are now paranoid about, whether true or not? That’s how your comment feels to me. LOL. I’ve never heard of Boetry, but that’s hilarious. I also invite you to go back through my blog over the last decade to recognize this is how I’ve been writing since I started out. But now, thanks to you, I will think about it every single time I write. Very funny.
