As you look back on 2018 may I make a recommendation?
Some of us will say, “Yeah baby! That was awesome!”
Others of us will say, “Holy heavens, I can’t believe it’s over. Bring on a New Year!”
Wherever you stand, know that sometimes the most important thing we can think are simply thoughts of gratitude that we are still alive.
Remember Thumper quoting his mother in Bambi: “If you can’t say somethin’ nice, don’t say nothin’ at all.”
For us Hewlett’s we can say we are grateful we made it, and here are some highlights along the way that really stood out from years past. We are thankful to all of our clients who created opportunities to spread the message of The Promise, and never before has The Promise been so true and needed for every audience that hears it.
Highlights from 2018 Events included:
Grand Cayman Islands events in April for A Place for Mom and Principal Financial Groups, 2 events on the same island back-to-back that made for a very fun experience renting our first private jet…er…private puddle jumper for a very hefty sum. Wrote about that adventure HERE.
Retirement Party for Jewish Rabbi Birnholz in Tampa, FL, article and funny video HERE.
Million Dollar Round Table keynote presentation in front of 15,300 in Los Angeles, CA. A dream come true event, wrote about the adventure and my 17 years pitching myself to them HERE
September 20-21, 4 Events in 4 different cities in 30 hours: GBS Benefits, White Cap Institute, Electronic Security Association, America First Credit Union. Loved ALL of these audiences. Incredible seeing the message:
“Becoming Legendary Leaders: Leveraging Your Signature Moves with The Promise” finally come together.
SHRM Vermont 1st visit to this fine State, one week early for leaves changing 🙂
MDRT: Top of the Table, in Kauai, HI a week in paradise by myself and made some lifelong friends along the way, as well as made some very silly videos too…
In October we did 2 PUBLIC EVENTS and Sold-Out both Shows in Orem, UT at the SCERA Center for the Arts.
It was a thrill to do shows for those in the community to enjoy. It had been too long. Not sure if I can ever do this again, as 2 gigs in 1 night nearly did me in. THANK YOU to all who came out and laughed with us – I feel the Motorhome Story is a winner, as well as the original songs I debuted, so watch for an album of my original music in 2019. The kids even joined me on stage where they appeared as Little Raptors and we took a selfie.
For December we had 9 events compared to 3 last year. We quickly realized I need to limit it to maybe 3 per December, or I miss too many events for the kids. So, if you’re interested in having me at your event I have 1 date left for December 2019, as 2 have already confirmed 🙂
One event in particular was quite sobering – being asked to sing for the funeral of a fallen officer and military veteran, Officer David Romrell – wrote about that harrowing experience HERE.
The most fun event of the year came as the final gig of the year. It was for the community and over 15,000 people filled up the Vivint Smart Home Arena to sing Christmas Caroles and filled Utah’s hearts with holiday cheer.
We get so many videos of me on stage from the audience’s perspective that I requested we get an over-the-shoulder shot of what it feels like when I am in front of so many people. I thought you’d enjoy this real-life perspective:
Finally, I had the opportunity to share a spiritual message on Hi Five Live on Facebook the other night, if you’re interested in watching an original song about Christmas and kids, as well as the story of my failed Arcade attempt, and a reminder of The Promise as we move into the New Year:

The Promise is the real deal my friends.
This year was extremely challenging for our family, and yet The Promise helped us get through.
One year ago I wrote a post about making One Promise for the year, trying something new.
I encourage the same for us in 2019.
Just make One Promise that you will not break.
It could be the most important promise you ever make.
I love and appreciate you, Thank You for giving me the chance to be in your life, both on the stage and in your email inbox.
I feel it a sacred opportunity and blessing.
My hopes, prayers, and words are with you, and I look forward to more fun, more laughs, more inspiration in 2019.
Happy New Year.

What a great recap. I’m glad I was a witness at a lot of these events. I also need to come visit your arcade, that is so cool! 2018 was a great year and here’s to 2019!
Very grateful for your support and friendship Rob. You had a beautiful year yourself. I raise a glass to you.
