The Video Book is Finally Available!

The Time Has Come – The VIDEO BOOK of “The Promise To The One” IS FINALLY HERE!   Backstory: At the end of February 2020, just before the world turned, the U.S. shut down with the pandemic, and all of my events were canceled as all went into quarantine, I flew across the country to film a project that I hoped would bring my soon-to-be-launched book to life. 3 days of filming, standing and reading/performing my book for 8-hours a day = sore feet! It was the concept of a brilliant friend of mine, fellow speaker Chuck Gallagher, who called me and said, “I have an idea to create your upcoming book into a video that will feel like a documentary and movie, called a VIDEO BOOK, but you need to get here quick so we can start working on it!” (I wrote about this amazing experience when we launched Chapter 1 in July 2020, CLICK HERE to read more.)  As one other friend, a great mentor of mine, Stephen Shapiro, had already shown me a sample of his video book, I was intrigued. The time, investment, and effort was all worth it! Yes, it took over one year to

Remove The Old Debris in Our Lives

Pandemic Garage Syndrome.  That’s what we can call it. Have you found yourself drowning in clutter, as we have? It’s not that we bought a ton of items, quite the contrary.  During the pandemic we hunkered down, digging into every little corner of our house, restarting projects we’d meant to do for years, pulling junk from the attic and opening every bin we’d ever stored. Next thing we know, we are swimming in…stuff!  OUR STUFF! To the point of being unable to park in the garage!  (I believe cars are supposed to go in there – at least, that’s what I’ve heard, and seen others do – like some weird kind of envy – suburban parking envy – few things rival this dark Keeping Up With The Jones feeling.) Recently I was looking for the number to call the TV Show “Hoarders” to see if that might embarrass our family enough into cleaning out the garage… But I guess all it took was getting angry enough at ourselves for having to look at that mess every single time we opened the garage door. And then, last Saturday, I finally had enough. I took a photo of our horrific garage,

The Las Vegas Strip

Have you been to The Strip in Las Vegas?   Unless you’re used to walking down the streets of New York City or Tokyo, The Strip in Las Vegas is a serious shock to the system for anyone. Energy.  Volume.  Lights.  People. Some craziness…or, lots of craziness.  I mean, heck, what is The Signature Move of Las Vegas?  It certainly keeps The Promise in regard to what it is known for! This past week for Spring Break we took our kids to Vegas in the RV for a little break from our normal quiet life, and threw them to the wolves of visual and audible over-stimulation.     What do you do for a Home Family or Work Family Retreat? I knew my “little raptors” were in for a treat within the first minute of our arrival, when, after watching the Mickey Mouse guy take a photo with some tourist children, ripped off his costume head, ran over to the Pikachu-costumed guy, and they both started smoking and coughing…with beloved cartoon character heads upside down on the ground at their feet. Welcome to Vegas kids!  In stunned silence, and a bold attempt at holding back their nervous laughter, we saw

WWJD

Due to the word “PROMISE”, I am often asked if this is a religious concept first and foremost.   Full disclosure: I believe there are SPIRITUAL undertones in everything we do; in business, in community, in social settings, and is the basis of our leadership. The Promise has become a foundational expression of my existence. And so, when I am called out for “not living The Promise”, that one stings, especially when true. Case in point ~ Recently I was in a very important meeting, working to collaborate with a client as we would go to the next level of success together. As it seemed we were moving forward, suddenly things took a stark turn with one ill placed question that resulted in the client calling me out in a group setting for not having kept The Promise as much as I should have, suggesting that “the guy living The Promise should have done things differently”…and it was painfully true.   As I tried to salvage any part of the relationship, due to my lack of commitment that was clearly called out in my being under-prepared, I stumbled over a few words as the meeting ended, but had to hold back a
