The Missing Key

Have you ever noticed the unfairness that is the following statement: If you do your job, no one has any idea how many times you’ve delivered, sacrifices made, miracles pulled off to make everything go smooth sailing…yet, if you fail to do your job only one time EVERYONE will notice! How cruel is this life sometimes? Now, here’s the next level of unfairness – what happens when YOU show up to do your job and SOMEONE ELSE has failed to do their job ahead of you, which leaves you unable to do yours? That’s some lose-your-mind-craziness going on, if you’ve ever been there – Feel free to comment below and tell us the story that got you in trouble, lost (or nearly lost) your job, chuck a few friends/peers under the proverbial bus (don’t use names), and let’s all have an Empathy Party together! The Promise Institute

  What did you dream about becoming when you were a kid? If you were like me (and perhaps you’ve read these facts in my book), the possibilities seemed endless, as it may have involved being an artist for Disney, playing basketball in the NBA, or becoming famous for your music and acting in movies. As adults our dreams seem to change.  Suddenly dreams of fame and glory are traded for staying sane and living without worry. Whether you are the risk taker in your adult age, still swinging for the fences, or have found your groove and are fixed on staying there, to launch big ideas that may fail publicly keep many dreamers from ever taking flight, grounded for fear of humiliation in the event an idea isn’t successful. What inspires me is seeing those who are willing to put themselves out there, who keep reaching for the stars, the childhood glimmer of belief easily recognizable…and it can almost be enviable while admirable (such a catch-22). Zoom Surgery

California doctor has court hearing for traffic violation; Logs into Zoom to appear for meeting with Judge; Appears to be wearing operating room gear; Appears to be in operating room; Appears to be operating and performing surgery! The court clerk asks, “Are you available for trial?  It kind of looks like you’re in an operating room right now?” Doctor: “I’m in an operating room.  Yes, I’m available for trial.  Go right ahead!” Medical equipment, beeping in background, doc handling surgical tools… On a court appearance Zoom call!!! Response from the wise Judge: “So unless I’m mistaken, I’m seeing a defendant that’s in the middle of an operating room appearing to be actively engaged in providing services to a patient,” Judge Gary Link said during the virtual hearing. “I do not feel comfortable for the welfare of a patient if you’re in the process of operating that I would put on a trial.” Ok, Time-Out. View From The Top of The World

  What makes you HAPPY? I think of that zone I get in when work is just flowing, I’m cranking out emails, finishing To-Do lists, projects delivered and ready to be published; Moments cruising down the highway in the RV as I look in the rearview mirror and see my children playing a game with Mommy with the open road ahead of us; How about those times when you know you’re doing what you should be doing – eating healthy and clean, working out, feeling great, sunshine on your shoulders and it makes you happy.
