  In June 2018 I had the unique opportunity to speak to the Million Dollar Round Table with over 15,300 in the audience in Los Angeles, CA. I had submitted my name for 17 years to get on their stage and it finally happened. What the audience didn’t realize is that I was very familiar on a personal level with their company and industry due to my father’s work in my youth. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share a story like this, as well as have my father in the audience. The Promise That Scares You

  “You have more in you.  You MUST share it. You have no choice and I will not allow you to continue until you do.”     Have you heard this voice before?   It may sound frightening, and to be frank, it is.   But that is the voice in your soul talking.  Are you willing to listen?   The other night in Orem, UT, as I performed to my first of 2 sold-out shows, I looked out over the audience.   The entire first row was sound asleep.   Why would I admit this to you, when you usually hear me talk about all the good things that happens in life, the standing ovations and accolades?   Because, I’m the only one who knows the truth, the only one who can share this secret with you, and it’s important you realize what we all go through during life’s performance.   Whole row – asleep – while I gave them my all.   Now granted, they were old, probably the youngest person in that row was 97, and it was 8:10 PM, so like 3 hours past their bedtime, but it is the truth.   And being that it

Goals vs Promises – The Process

  Why set a goal when we can make a promise? If you’ve heard me speak about The Promise, The Engagement Experience, you’ve heard me say that phrase. A lot of people are confused. They go, “Does that mean there’s no more goals?” No. That’s not what that means, but all you have to do is go through a process that helps you: Identify Clarify Magnify …what are goals, and what are promises? If it’s a goal and you can set it and break it and it’s not a big deal if you hit it, that’s a goal, so identify and clarify that. But if it’s a promise, it’s not as many things. It’s something that’s more of a proclamation, something that you affirm that you will do. It’s a commitment that you will not break. What are your promises? Identify, clarify, and magnify those. Once you do that, it shifts everything in business, everything in life, the way that you live, and so where goals are still particulars and promises are proclamations, that’s when everything changes. Where It All Began: Kauai, HI

    Raptor loose in Kauai!   I guess you could call me a sentimental guy. Here I am, one hour left before I fly away from beautiful Kauai Island, but I’m here in Lihue, where pretty much a lot of my career creativity began. Back in March of 2000, we came here with my parents who cashed out all of their Marriott points and gave each of my siblings and I our own special room. My clock would never change.  I couldn’t figure out why I could not sleep, but I took advantage of the time and would walk along this beach every night for the entire trip for almost a week and a half as I created my entire act, my show. In that time I put together what would become staples of my act for years to come, including the Jim Carrey Subway routine, the Bee Gees parody, the Chipmunks, and I figured out how to create a show out of what I have been blessed with for my talents. The Promise of Discipline

  Watch this post here:   Have you ever been to a conference where the view out your hotel window looked like this? What is fascinating to me is how often events are held at the great resorts of the world, with views such as this, and we are expected to still do our work, go to meetings, and deny what the natural man truly wants – to run outside and play!
